“Eres Agua, ¡Toma Conciencia!“ is a water culture campaign that was developed by Amigos de Sian Ka’an and MARTI, with the support of the SUMMIT Foundation.

This campaign is the biggest water campaign launched in Quintana Roo where both government and society are working together to generate positive impacts on the state’s only water resource in Quintana Roo, the karstic aquifer.

The campaign is focuses on giving the Quintana Roo community the information they need to protect their local aquifer. This includes developing activities around water use, promoting best practices and raising awareness about the importance of water in the local people’s lives.  The Commission of Water Supply of the State of Quintana Roo and the NGO Grupo Intersectorial in Cozumel are supporting the campaign with radio spots, workshops in schools and events, mobile cinema and cartoons to help spread the message. Women and children are the target audience because of their roles as change makers in the family unit.

A plan is in place to evaluate the on-going impacts of the campaign to ensure continued success and improvements to campaign activities.
